I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually happening.
